Two Franklins, one standard

Franklin was founded in 1799 and is the seat of Williamson County, and its houses span more than 2 centuries. Near the historic downtown, a closet or a set of built-ins has to respect trim profiles, plaster walls and room proportions that are worth keeping. Out in Westhaven and the newer neighborhoods on the city’s edges, the rooms are larger and squarer, and the question is how to fill them with storage that does not look like an afterthought.

We design for both. In an older house the carpenters scribe every piece to the room and the finish follows the existing millwork. In a newer one the cabinetry can go wall to wall and floor to ceiling, and the design is free to set the style for the room.
